What are ToneCore™ pedals? ToneCore pedals are the new line of modeling stompboxes from Line 6. Each of the
pedals in the Tone Core line include superior Line 6 tone and features, rugged die-cast construction, dual-action switching (tap tempo), and 9 Volt operation (or optional power supply).
How many ToneCore pedals are there? Initially, there will be 6 ToneCore pedals to choose from.
What are the models?
Echo Park™
Echo Park is based largely on the award-winning DL4 Delay Modeler. This pedal is loaded with the best models including analog, tape, and digital delay, all easily adjustable with the Tap Tempo feature. Different delay patterns such as slap, ping pong, swell, and sweep can be adjusted with the twist of a knob, and the Mod dial can be tweaked for even more variations. Echo Park also features stereo ins and outs.
Uber Metal™
Uber Metal, the high-gain model in the ToneCore pedals line, brings you massive amounts of gain in one tiny, tough package. You can choose from some of the best Line 6 high-gain tones including Metal, Pulverize, and Insane. Also included with the Uber Metal is a built-in selectable noise gate, and scoop control for massive tonal contouring.
Crunchtone™
Crunchtone features three warm, full-bodied overdrive models including Blues, Pop, and Crunch, all based on award-winning Line 6 preset tones. Crunchtone also features simple yet versatile tone control for easy tweaking.
Constrictor™
Constrictor gives you a choice of three versatile compressor models including compact, squeeze, and mellow with adjustable sustain for all. Constrictor also features an adjustable gate control.
Space Chorus™
Space Chorus features three killer models, Chorus, Tri, and Vibrato, which are all based on analog tones. Tweak your sound with adjustable speed, shape, and depth while controlling the rate with Tap Tempo. Space Chorus also features stereo ins and outs.
Tap Tremolo™
Tap Tremolo allows you to set different types of tremolo exactly how you like it using the Tap Tempo feature along with adjustable Dynamic Speed control, peak setting, depth, and shape. You can choose from Opto Tremolo, Bias Tremolo, or stereo panning models. Tap Tremolo also features stereo ins and outs.
When will the ToneCore pedals be available? ToneCore pedals are available now.
Are ToneCore pedals "true bypass"? No. They use an FET style switching that removes the A/D converter from the audio when in Bypass.
Are they "true stereo"? Do they have stereo in/outputs? (which models) Yes. The Tap Tremolo, Space Chorus, and Echo park.
Does Echo Park have a looper? No. For looping controls and features, the DL4 sets the standard with 14 seconds of loop time, half-speed, and loop reverse.
How does the tap tempo work on the various pedals? ToneCore pedals feature a unique 2-IN-1 step footswitch used setting the tempo for time-based effects.
1) On all effects, step firmly on the footswitch to turn the effect On and Off.
2) On the effects like delay or tremolo, tap lightly on the footswitch a couple times to set the effect tempo.
Is there a power supply that powers more than 1 unit? No, but we do have a power supply (DC-1) that will power one unit.
Can I daisy chain these on a power supply? No, you will want to use isolated power supplies for each ToneCore.
What’s the difference between these and the big stompbox modelers? The new ToneCores are standard, single button sized stompboxes with no preset programmability.
Are these models based on vintage pedal effects, or are they original? Some models are totally new and others were developed using modified versions of Line 6’s effects library.
